Welcome. I’m Glenn Harris, and the artwork you’ll find here grows out of a lifetime spent observing, designing, building, and appreciating the world around me.
Born and raised in New Orleans, I developed a lasting connection to this city and its surrounding areas—their architecture, neighborhoods, traditions, and people. From the galleries of the French Quarter to the homes along St. Charles Avenue, the places around me helped shape how I see. Their character and stories continue to influence my work today.
I attended Jesuit High School and graduated from Louisiana State University’s School of Environmental Design in 1967. While at LSU, I studied Architectural History and Fine Art for several years. Those studies helped establish the connection between architecture, history, and artistic expression that continues throughout my work.
My professional life has included more than five decades in architectural design, planning, landscape architecture, and construction consulting. As a Design Architect, I have spent much of my life considering how buildings, landscapes, materials, and people come together to create meaningful places.
My travels have taken me to more than 20 countries around the world, where I have experienced architecture and fine art firsthand. Seeing these places in person has deepened my appreciation for their craftsmanship, culture and history. Those experiences continue to inspire my work as a Design Architect and artist, bringing a broader perspective to the stories I tell through art.
That experience shapes my approach to art. I notice proportion, perspective, materials, light, and the relationship between a building and its surroundings. I also think about the people who give a place meaning—the families who live there, the neighbors who gather, and the generations whose experiences become part of its history.
My creativity also extends to repurposing old items into furniture and lighting. I enjoy seeing the possibilities in an object and finding a new purpose for it while retaining something of its character.
Athletics have been another lasting part of my life. While wrestling for Jesuit High School, I won three individual state championships and finished as state runner-up in my fourth year. I also participated in gymnastics for two years and trained in weightlifting with Louis Rickie at the old New Orleans Athletic Club. In 1960, I was a member of LSU’s first gymnastics team. Today, physical activity remains part of my life through weightlifting, racquetball, pickleball, and flag football with my grandson.
In January 2026, at 84 years old, I returned to a serious pursuit of art. I brought with me a lifetime of design experience, curiosity, and a renewed desire to create. This chapter has given me another way to explore the subjects I love and share the stories I see within them.
My collection begins close to home, with New Orleans and Louisiana, and reaches toward historic places around the world. Architecture remains a central interest, alongside music, cultural traditions, wildlife, and the sea. Each subject offers something different: a memory, a moment of wonder, a sense of strength, or an invitation to look more closely.
Through watercolor interpretations, pen-and-ink studies, and expressive compositions, I bring architectural observation together with artistic storytelling. My work reflects both the structure of a place and the atmosphere that makes it memorable.
I live in Metairie, Louisiana, a suburb of New Orleans, with my wife, Cathi. Family remains central to my life, including our four children, eight grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

Matte paper reproductions start at $30. The listed size is the physical sheet. Every framed paper layout allows ⅜ inch of frame overlap and at least ½ inch of visible white on all four sides, preserving the complete artwork and its proportions. Mats are optional at an additional quoted charge. Decorative frames are separate.
Gallery-wrapped canvas includes stretching over a wooden support frame. The 18 × 24 inch wrapped canvas is $215 where that size suits the artwork. Rolled canvas is supplied unstretched, with extra wrapping allowance included when requested. All standard print selections show a price; oversized and special prints are quoted individually. Metal prints follow the same size-and-price schedule as gallery-wrapped canvas. Metal mounting and hardware are specified in your quote.
Selected canvas prints may be enhanced by hand with highlights, color or texture. The technique, additional price and completion time are agreed before work begins. Requests to add new subjects or substantially alter a scene receive a custom-art quote.
